Hvidsø Roklub has stood by the lake since 1921, in the red boathouse its members built themselves. We are 240 rowers aged 13 to 84, and we row fourteen boats: six wooden inriggers named after the lake's birds, and eight sculls. The season runs from raising the flag in April to lowering it in October, but the lake decides. Over 8 m/s only experienced rowers go out, over 11 m/s no one does, and after sunset we are ashore. In winter we train on ergometers in the clubhouse. You don't need to know anything beforehand. You need to be able to swim 300 metres, and we teach you the rest.
